Inductors

To accommodate your complete servo system requirements, Glentek manufactures a complete line of split winding inductors. Many specialty inductors are stocked, however their specifications are not listed in this catalog. Please feel free to contact a Glentek Applications Engineer to assist you in making the proper inductor selection.

Inductors are primarily used for the following reasons:
1) When operating a PWM (Pulse-Width-Modulated) servo amplifier with a low inductance (i.e. less than 300 micro Henries) servo motor, an inductor in series with the motor helps to stabilize the current waveform from the servo amplifier.
2) When operating a PWM (Pulse-Width-Modulated) servo amplifier with a servo motor, an inductor in series with the motor will help to smooth out the edges of the current waveform from the amplifier, thereby reducing the conducted and radiated noise of the servo system.
